Leek has a bustling market on a Wednesday every week with the indoor Butter & Trestle market as well as market stalls on Derby Street, extending to Sparrow Park.
It was a wonderful site and sound to hear the Town Crier welcoming people back to the town and to Leek Market on Wednesday 15th April.
After so so many weeks of not being able to have a mooch at the market stalls it was great to see everyone out and about enjoying greeting friends …at a safe distance of course.
The markets may be a bit different with one way systems in place in certain areas but it was plain to see that both the people of Leek and the market traders were all glad to be back.
Out and about enjoying the sunny weather was Stephen Wales, Leek Town Major, here will Bill Lomas Leek Town Crier.
For many of the market traders it was their first day of trading for months and they are all glad to see happy customers once again.
Leek outdoor Market takes place every Wednesday when both the indoor Butter Market and Trestle are open. The Butter Market is also open every Friday.
Why not pop along and help support your local market traders.
Hope to see you soon!
